Rainy Days

I bribed them with, "I'll show you the picture if you let me take it" works for now!

Playing marbles. She has finally stopped putting them in her mouth and so I am more trusting of having this out.Having fun!

Happy Birthday Rowan

Rowan often times needs to share his breakfast space with his buddy Oliver! He sits and waits for a spill so he can get a lick :)
New sneakers, gotta love the excitement, cause it won't be this way in about 10 years, he'll say aww Mom, did you have to.

A couple of months ago he asked me if I would make a fish cake. So that is what theme we we're going to go with. I also was going to make froggy cupcakes so I then sent out his e-vite invitation to family with a frog on it. Things got busy and I decided last minute I was going to buy his cake at yoders, They are definately better then any cakes I have ever made! He then changed his mind and wanted a dino cake, I thought aww man this is going to clash, but he is 4 and it is what he wanted and it will not ruin anything, so he got a dinosaur cake, and he was so Happy!

The first year we did candles (not sure why).

Rowan, oh my, you are 4! I don't think I know where the last 4 years went. That's crazy. I remember the first year going so slow, and them, bam, now you're 4. You are such a big help to me. You ask many questions and I have finally settled down and not been so annoyed by the many you ask and let you be who you need to be right now. You are defining who you are and finding out about this world. I just pray that I can continue to steer and guide you in the right direction. I often, very often, in fact way too often, will second guess everything I do with you. I still haven't figured that out. But I know that you are my firstborn, you are strong, and you are a fighter, just like your mama, and grandmama.

Every morning you get your self dressed in the clothes that you now pick out all by yourself. Your adament about changing your underwear very often. You hate if you are wet from washing your hands. You come into my room and tell me some whopper of a story and it is the bright spot in my day to laugh right away when I wake up to whatever you are saying. You're gonna be a jokester that's for sure! You have just gotten onto legos (thanks to birthday presents). You love gum, maybe a little too much. But it sur ekeeps you busy for a while if your chomping on it. Every day since well last summer...you ask if you can wear you're swimming trunks so you can go swimming! You tell me often:

"Mom you got to be kiddin me"

"Love you dearly enough"

"Mom I think I should have some candy now"

"Mom can I go fishing season with daddy"

(meaning can he go out fishing today with daddy)

"Mom I think we should give these toys away"

"Mom can I help"

Your wheels are always turning rowan. I am so thankful for you and know that God gave you, who you are to me, to help me grow not just as a mommy but as a person in his grace and mercy. And I am so thankful for that. I enjoy your sweet smile. All I have to do is look at you and oh how you smile. I LOVE it!!

God has protected you these first 4 years of your life and he will continue to lead you to him. My prayer is that you will follow! You are aware of God in your life and you enjoy praying to him for everyone that is dear to you. I hope your daddy and I can be an example for you.

30 and Beyond

My hubby threw me a surprise 30th birthday party, with a little help from his parents and trish. I was truly surprised, I never thought neal would do something like this, although I secretely wished he would! :)
I got to enjoy lots of coversation with some i haven't seen in some time, so that was nice.
I am feeling really good about movning onto 30. I like the fact of leaving those early 20 somethings days behind, probably the worst of my life! And it all kinda falls in line with my recent baptism and where i feel the Lord is leading me right now, starting new. Is that what it is? I think more of it as stepping out and finding my new balance in life.
No pics yet but I will bug some people for some.

Hubby is taking me flying, I cannot express how excited I am about that!
Going to see coldplay at the end of May with my brother, that will be cool!
