"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for rightousness, for they shall be filled."
Matthew 5:6
Well today is our 21st day and boy oh boy did satan ever tempt me. It was actually the hardest day out of all 21 days. I know you're thinking, What? I kept trying to make excuses of why we could break it on the 21st day. I knew someone else who did it and so I thought hey it's okay. (It also didn't help that I went grocery shopping at two diffrent stores today) I'll just add a little meat to my stir fry. But am I ever glad that my God is so much bigger then satan! He held me strong and gave me the desire to trust him and most of all, Obey him!
I made carrot cake (with whole wheat flour and raw sugar) tonight and also choc chip muffins with yogurt. And I didn't once even think about eating them. Yeah :) I am really into keeping it simple and not buying things with lots of ingredients. Man how your mind and discipline can change. All I know is my tounge will burn with taste tomorrow if I choose to indulge in something non daniel fast!
I am excited to have my book party tomorrow. I am wondering if I should become a consultant myself? I just don't know if it's a fit for me?
I took R sledding today, his first time, he loved it. I am hoping we can go tomorrow again.
I love serving my Lord Jesus, he picks me up time and time again. His grace is never-ending! My wonderful husband and I have been truly BLESSED with a son and a two daughters who teach us something new every day and show us love in a whole new light.

Nearing the End
So I have totally been a bad blogger when it comes to this whole blogging about my fast. But when I really think about it, that's good! I have been trying to stay away from the computer as well with my fasting.
Wednesday will be our 21st day. And boy I can't even hardly believe I am saying this, but part of me feels like pressing onto 40 days. There is so much more I feel I want to fast for.
I will admit, I do not feel that much more spiritual or that any defining thing has happened. I've been focusing on my marriage in prayer, as we are at the hardest place now then we have ever been. It's just been hard to get along and agree. Some say it's because our children are so young. But I don't want to make excuses, we are just being lazy, and very, very stubborn in our own ways, not God's.
But I will report that I definately see my children in such a different way, I am able to exhibit more patience and grace with them, then ever before. (I still have my days :)
And I feel/know that God has humbled me through this fast. I love feeling calm, patient, and under control. I have been going and going and going and felt like I was always rushing to do the next thing or helping the next person. I have stepped back and really focused on my family and said no, where I needed to. Not taking everything on myself. I have been asking to recieve from others (WOW!)
Most of all is the obedience He is teaching me. My mom was very strict with her discipline and her authority but I don't know that I ever truly learned obedience. Does that even make sense? It does to me now anyway. I have been thinking more logical, and physically feel awesome. Although I have not really lost weight. My body feels great!! I have learned to be obedient in so many areas of my life. I know they seem miniscule, but to me they are spectacular.
So will I continue onto 40 days? I don't know yet, I really long for some meat with my meal, but I also desire for some more of His meat too. I will be praying.

Farm Show
I just have to convince hubby! :P
The farm show was so fun this year. I thought neal and I would tucker out pretty quickly, but we didn't, we felt really good and walked and walked, and walked some more. I missed not getting the "Real" milkshakes. But did not struggle with thoughts of temptations at all. So what a pleasing day it was for all!
Day 11
Psalm 139: 23-24
"Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."
I don't have a lot of time, and I know i've been bad with updating but I truly need to go meditate on the scripture above. I hear the Lord calling me!
We had a spaghetti supper with neal's whole family on saturday evening. Neal and I brought our olive oil and vinegar salad dressing and sesame sticks to eat on top. Well of course that sparked lots of questions. And most couldn't understand how or why we would do such a thing. So we explained and they looked like a deer in headlights. But we we're glad to share and we have added some to our prayer list as we see the need now more then ever for those hurting in this family. I did get to bring some of "grandmas famous" spaghetti home. I put it in the freezer and maybe a week or so after we have completed the daniel fast we will enjoy it. Yummy!! Then we palyed bingo, which was sooo much fun. Neal and I even sat at the table where all the candy prizes we're and it didn't even bother me. Thank you Lord for such a willingness and obedient heart. I love it:)

Day 7
"This third I will bring into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, 'They are my people,' and they will say, 'The Lord is our God' "
Zechariah 13:9
Today I sought the Lord for the refiners fire to come and remove any impurities. Focusing on Righteousness and Purity. I told Him that I want to walk free from the impuritys of my past and that I will walk forward from now on and not let the enemy use my past impuritys against me , "No more!"
Today was a good day. I tried some of the Kashi cereal with soy milk (Yuck) So I decided to eat the cereal dry and it is good. We are all dealing with a stomach bug, I just wish it would go away. I am praying that it soon exits. I know it is the enemy trying to dter me. Especially last night with Rowan throwing up. I was so grumpy, but after taking time with the Lord, even the cat throwing up today made me laugh!
I e-mailed our pastor's wife looking for some daniel recipes last evening. I am hoping she gets back in contact with me soon. I heard she really researched things. Well I am really tired and it is way past my bedtime, so I need to go to sleep. We have been averaging a 9:30 lights out, and sleeping good!! :)

Am I wrong?
I privatized this because all I keep hearing in my head is that I should not be announcing to the world that I am fasting. And so if you have tried to get on my blog and can't I am sure I will get an e-mail from you and then I will make a decesion if I want to let you read this now, or when I am done with my fast. No hard feelings! But yet this is my outlet and so I want to write on here. Kinda like when you find out your pregnant, and you think you want to wait until 3 months to play it safe. But yet if you have a miscarriage you still want to let all your best girlfriends know anyway! Does that make sense?
So am I wrong for putting this on my blog? I am sorry if you think I am and maybe one day I will regret it, but for now, I am pushing through.
Pushing through. That seems to be my theme for today.
I am 6 days into my daniel fast. Our church is doing it corporately. Everyone is not doing the daniel fast but some type if they wish, it could mean that they are fasting one meal or going three days without food and water. Neal and I tried a whole day without the food and water before we started the daniel fast and decided we'll stick with daniel's way. We we're both naesues and I threw up. So we jumped right into the daniel fast.
What is the daniel fast?
“In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.” Daniel 10:2, 3
It means you eat only fresh fruit and veggies. Some nuts, and drink plenty of water. There are also lots of websites out there that say you can incorporate raw sugar and honey, some dairy, and some other things, but we have chosen not to for ourselves, I am not saying it is the right way for everyone!
Anyway...I am 6 days in, and today has really been my rough day, I just can't seem to get full, and yet I am not eating cause nothing is appetizing. I have eaten the same thing twice, three, and maybe even ten times now, and need new recipes and ideas.
But like I said I am pushing through.
Praying
Seeking
Jesus said, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled."
Matthew 5:6
"But without faith it is impossible to please him for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligintly seek Him."
Hebrews 11:6

Christmas Part 2
"I'm a little pony, clippity clop, clippity clop, such a pretty pony, clippity clop, clippity clop, I loved to have my toes brushed underneath the old oak tree, won't you come and run and jump and play with me!"
Does it sound annoying :P
Over all our christmas was good. It went quick but isn't that what we all say. I really wanted to dig in deep to the whole story of christs birth with the kids, but they just couldn't ever sit long enough to listen the the whole thing. Or rowan seemed bored. But then I realized, I just wasn't making the time!! So next year I will definately make it a point, and tone down the whole glam of christmas. It's one thing I can do for my Saviour right?
We did get sick with colds and pink eye christmas day and about a week following.
And we're now recovering from a stomach bug, the norm going around this time of year.
